4th & 5th Class Retreat,
& Middle School Youth Rally
Friday of Catholic Schools Week 2020 was a busy day at the middle school. During the morning the 4th & 5th grade participated in their class retreat day centered on exploring the mystery of The Incarnation, and the 6th, 7th & 8th grade joined students from around the diocese at Catholic Central for a Youth Rally. In the afternoon staff and 8th grade played a round of volleyball and basketball while the 4th-7th grade cheered on their favorite team. Eddy the Eagle made an appearance and Mr. Palmeri was joined by a small pep band to provide some additional entertainment.
The 4th & 5th grade started their retreat day with Mass and a guest speaker who shared about her faith journey. Students worked with the Infancy Narrative Atrium Works and reflected on 1 John 4:7-11. They also shared root beer floats and discussed the 4 reason that God became man:
- So that we can know God's love
- To reconcile us with God
- So we can follow His example to be holy
- To unit our human nature with His divine nature
The 6th, 7th & 8th grade students gathered with friend from other local Catholic schools for games, a juggling performance, faith sharing stories and a keynote speaker. Students were also challenged to live a life set on fire by the Holy Spirit by reading scripture and praying daily.
